Uniform
The keikogi is the jacket. The hakama is the pleated trousers worn over it. Put the jacket on first, then the hakama. After practice, fold them and wash them in cold water so the pleats last.

Put on the keikogi and hakama
Jacket first, then the hakama over it. The photo set shows each part of the tie as a still. The video shows the same process moving. It is in French — turn on YouTube’s auto-translated subtitles.

Fold it after practice
Fold the gi and hakama before they go in the bag. Stacking the pleats keeps them pressed and stops the cloth from creasing into a lump.

Wash in cold water
Wash the uniform in clean cold water. Hot water and a dryer shrink the cotton and flatten the pleats. When you have kote, the padded gloves, the same video shows how to wash those too.
